5 Video Games You’ll Want to Buy In January

(Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy)

Happy New Year! I’m sure we’re all eager to leave 2020 behind, though its video game elements were surprisingly strong. We’re certainly thankful for that, as the digital distractions were necessary. We don’t know what 2021 will bring, but January at least delivers some great gaming entertainment as we take our first steps into the New Year.

We’ve seen some astounding games over the last 12 months. Nioh 2 delivered all the crazy Sengoku Era action and gameplay expansions that made it a massive improvement over the already excellent original game. Final Fantasy VII Remake retold the first chapter of the iconic PS1 classic story with revamped combat, impressive visuals, and major plot twists. Doom Eternal gave the pulse-pounding, demon-blasting shooter new movement abilities, perks, and sub-weapons. Even mobile games got in on the action, with the multiplayer hilarity of Among Us blowing up during the second half of the year.

We hope 2021 is as great a year for gaming as the last, and January starts off strong. If contract killing and disguise-heavy stealth are your ideas of a good time, Hitman 3 arrives in the middle of the month. If you want something more relaxed and adventure-oriented, Reisalin the alchemist returns in Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy. Check out the full list below to see what the month has in store.
