Bethanie, Western Australia’s leading not for profit aged
care and retirement living provider, has been warmly welcoming and
caring for seniors for over 65 years. We strive to lead the change
in the way Australians think about ageing, recognising ‘old
age’ as a positive force in society and giving a voice to
those who have seen it all and live to tell the tale.
Bethanie recognises the important role our volunteers play in
enriching the ageing journey of our customers throughout Perth and
regional Western Australia. Over the past 12 months, a review
of Bethanie’s volunteer program has identified a need for
additional support to better equip volunteers for their role and
build site’s capacity in managing and retaining
volunteers.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager Volunteer Services, you will join a
newly established Volunteer Engagement Team. The Regional
Volunteer Liaison Officer will act as an intermediary
between allocated community and residential aged care sites (in the
South metro and South West catchment), volunteers and the Volunteer
Recruitment Coordinator. You will promote a positive culture
towards volunteer involvement at Bethanie and engage sites in the
implementation of new processes to improve Bethanie’s
volunteer program.
This role is responsible for providing face-to-face and remote
support to site volunteer coordination teams by helping to identify
volunteer needs; assist with inducting incoming volunteers; be a
go-to for volunteers and check-in to see how they are going; assist
with reporting/tracking; assist with performance management issues;
and assist sites with their volunteer recognition efforts.
On a day-to-day basis, this role will involve travel to
different sites to help maximise opportunities to embed improved
volunteer involvement practices at each site.
This position is permanent part-time, working 30.4 hours per
week so an excellent opportunity if you are looking for
flexibility. This role supports the South metro /
South West catchment from Fremantle to Mandurah & Bunbury.
About you

offer and enjoy the variety that liaising with volunteers and staff

As this role involves working remotely you will be comfortable
working with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
You will also bring:

skills to effectively support multiple sites – both remotely
and in person
