Research Assistant, Broome – Telethon Institute for Child Health Research – Western Australia

The Opportunity

An exciting and rare opportunity exists if you are an enthusiastic Research Assistant to join a great team working to support equine (horse) assisted learning related research activities within the Yawardani Jan-ga Research Program. Designed and delivered by Aboriginal people for Aboriginal people. In this role you will play a key role in assisting with research and consultancy activities with a strong focus on supporting the compliance with research protocols.

We are looking for someone who is self motivated with excellent attention to detail and has great data management skills. You will help the team drive important work to ensure that our research has a meaningful impact to the lives of our children, families and communities.

About You

The key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in the following:

  • Data management and monitoring skills (participant files and records).
  • Working efficiently under pressure and meeting tight timelines.
  • Great people skills with the ability to develop strong relationships.
  • Knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to Kimberley Aboriginal culture and ways of working and learning.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal people in the Kimberley context.

Conveniently located in Broome, this is a part-time opportunity.
