STRATEGIC PLANNING CONSULTANT – Ultimate Software – Western Australia

This pre-sales position is responsible for the successful communication of our Human Capital Management’s launch methodology & offering, customer support and services offering. The Strategic Planning Consultant assists/partners with the Sales & Pre-Sales Representatives in their region and represents the value and differentiation of how we implement our solution. This will include leading conference calls; onsite needs analysis, as well as high level, detailed, and scripted presentations/demonstrations. This is a high exposure, prospect facing, position where consistent, exceptional performance will be required and rewarded. Target Audience is C-level, VP-level and Director-level individuals.


Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Ultimate Software’s Culture, Values and Mission as Brand Ambassador
  • Partner with Global Delivery to determine scope of HCM requirements
  • Conduct presentations/demonstrations to potential customers on the value of our “Launch” offering

o 7-Step Methodology

o Timeline and Resource Requirements (Customer and US)

o Deployment Recommendations (Phased/Full Rollout)

o After-Launch Support Model Details and Value Proposition

o Detailed Information on Learning Resources In-Launch and Post Live

  • Deliver Executive-Level Current vs. Future-State Success Criteria Presentations/Discussions
  • Differentiate our offering with prospects so they can understand how, when and what we effectively deliver and contrast our delivery with other deployment models
  • Effectively Recommend Integration Solutions for Employee Life-Cycle Solution Providers

o Benefits Providers

o Financial Institutions

o Cloud and Self-Hosted General Ledger/ERP Solutions

o Point of Sale and other niche vertical requirements

  • Understand and Provide Best-Practice Guidance on Security Setups, Strategic Analytics, Future Considerations etc.
  • Provide Consultative Approach to Business Requirements/Solution-Matching
  • Perform market research to discover and utilize competitive differentiators in support of the sales process
  • Update Salesforce with activities for mid-month and month-end activity analysis/reporting
  • Other responsibilities and duties will be assigned as necessary


Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent listening and comprehension skills
  • Understanding of technology, network design, database design, html, web development, web services and various report writing applications.
  • Minimum of five years experience with HRMS/HCM implementations
  • Knowledge of consulting services desired
  • Must be team orientated and sales minded
  • Must be highly motivated and be able to work independently
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheets, presentation and project management business applications
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • A passport or equivalent travel documentation is required
  • College degree required or proven work experience
  • Knowledge of Ultimate Software, UltiPro and Cognos desired
