Supervisor – EPCM, SMP & Mining Projects (Permanent) – Minprovise – Western Australia

About us

Minprovise is a specialist engineering, products & services company providing expert support to the mining, oil & gas and construction industries throughout Australia and internationally, with key locations in Perth WA and Coopers Plains, Queensland. From mineral processing equipment and fabrication, through to specialist industry products and site services, our team at Minprovise can provide the right equipment and expertise to get the job done.

About the opportunity

Minprovise continues to grow, despite COVID-19 and unpredictable market conditions. We need impressive leaders, who get the need for safety at all times and treat their crew with respect. The leaders we are looking for, are legends. They work smart and they know their stuff. They understand that you need to put the safety of their crew first and foremost, as well as protect our client’s representatives, assets and themselves.

Our Project Supervisors are down-to-earth and have the ability to build rapport at all levels of our business – from the frontline to the Managing Director, to our clients. They coach, nurture and encourage safe work practices and engage the workforce to deliver Minprovise’s services, safely, on time and to budget. You can switch between getting your hands dirty, to taking a step back and supervising – delivering coaching and mentoring at the right time to grow and develop our dedicated tradies and semi-skilled crew.

You can expect the following, on a regular day on the job:

  • Work closely with the Project Execution Manager, either in the new Welshpool office or onsite, to deliver the scope of works agreed with our clients, safely and professionally;
  • Support the project execution teams with all planning activities, including labour, tools, equipment and materials for project and shut down contracts;
  • Giving your team direction to deliver the scope of work to an exceptional standard;
  • Monitor and report on shutdown progress and address any issues as they arise;
  • Participating in all site-based safety activities, including leading toolbox meetings, contributing to investigations and driving a proactive safety culture.

You will bring the following to the table:

  • You have mechanical or fabrication trade certificate and a minimum of 5 years leading crews;
  • You have worked on projects before – cool stuff, like apron feeder change-outs; installing chutes, hoppers and bins, and other left of centre maintenance gigs;
  • You’ve stayed in a few minesite dongas or camps in your time – you know how it rolls and you’re fine with the FIFO lifestyle;
  • You know mineral processing plants, crushers and mineral processing screen maintenance like you know your own toolbox;
  • You’re the kind of leader that everyone wants to have a beer with, but you also know when to draw the line;
  • You’re pretty good with computers and text messages, but you prefer to talk shop face to face;
  • You have a stack of tickets and licenses, including a drivers’ license. You will also get a gold star from the HR Department, if you have current working at heights, confined spaces and section 44 supervisor tickets, although these are not essential.

What we offer

We offer the standard things that you would expect, including competitive remuneration and career growth opportunities. What you may not expect, is that we have: an awesome workplace culture and a growing employee benefits offering; down-to-earth leaders and a great crew.

And, we offer attractive fly-in, fly-out arrangements. We like to mix it up and have you work in our Welshpool office sometimes too. This is a permanent, full-time role. Like how it sounds so far?
