Razer Created a $60 Fan to Keep Your Smartphone Cool

Razer couldn’t help itself. The gaming company is selling another product most consumers will never need: A large fan that clips onto a smartphone.

The Razer Phone Cooler Chroma can run up to 6,400rpm, and is designed to keep a smartphone cool if it starts overheating during a long gaming session. Get it now for $59.99.

“Powered by advanced cooling technology and Razer Chroma RGB, you can now stay cool in the heat of battle with style,” the company said in a tweet

The accessory is compatible with most Android smartphones and Apple’s iPhone, according to Razer. The standard unit comes with a “universal clamp.” However, the company also created a special magnetic version that can attach to an iPhone 12 or 13 via Apple’s MagSafe connector.

The product will definitely make your smartphone stand out. The fan is sizable and includes RGB lighting across 12 customizable lights, which can be configured via a Bluetooth connection.

Despite the product’s size, Razer says it runs with minimal fan noise at 30 decibels. The fan itself charges via a USB-C cable.

The RGB fan joins a growing line of unconventional products from Razer. In September, the company introduced tiny finger sleeves smartphone gamers can wear to avoid sweaty hands. Then in October, the company launched the Zephyr, an RGB-powered air purifier mask, which surprisingly continues to sell out due to high demand.
