Razer Tips World’s First Laptop With 240Hz OLED Display, But It’s Expensive

Razer is creating a new challenger for the ultimate PC gaming laptop with a Blade notebook outfitted with an OLED panel capable of a 240Hz refresh rate.

Razer says the upcoming product is the world’s first laptop to feature an OLED 240Hz panel, which promises to offer stunning image quality. The laptop represents an improvement over the current OLED Blade 15 model, which offers a higher 4K resolution but has its display capped at a mere 60Hz refresh rate, making it less ideal for gaming.

The upcoming 240Hz OLED model, on the other hand, has a lower 1440p resolution. But on the plus side, the display can run games at a far higher refresh rate that avid PC gamers will enjoy.

“This never-before-seen panel brings brighter, more vivid colors to life at esports-level speeds like no other laptop today,” Razer says. The resulting display makes the laptop perfect for a variety of functions, including gaming, video editing, and watching movies, the company adds.

Unfortunately, the laptop isn’t slated to launch until sometime in the fourth quarter. It’ll also arrive with a high price tag: $3,499.99. In terms of specs, the 240Hz OLED model features an Intel 12th Generation Core i9-12900H processor paired with an Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti mobile GPU.

The laptop's OLED panel has a 1-millisecond response time and can reach a brightness of 400 nits. “The new model of the Blade 15 is packed with premium storage solutions such as 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB SSD, with an additional M.2 slot for additional space,” Razer says.

The product is slated to be sold on Razer.com and at authorized retailers.
