Dell’s 13-Inch Latitude 9330 Laptop Comes With Dedicated Buttons for Video Calls

Dell is filling out its business notebook portfolio with three new products, including a 13.3-inch Windows 11 laptop convertible that’s designed for video conferencing.

On Tuesday, the company unveiled the Latitude 9330, which is meant to be a premium laptop for business professionals. “It’s the first 13-inch device in the 9000 series and the thinnest of the Latitude portfolio with a 16:10 InfinityEdge display—delivering a perfectly sized option for you, the mobile worker,” the PC maker said in the announcement.

According to Dell, the real standout feature is the Latitude 9330's “collaboration touchpad,” which is designed to offer quick access to video-call functions. This includes dedicated buttons to mute or unmute the laptop's microphone, switch the video on or off, and to access the screen-share and chat function for Zoom meetings.

“With the collaboration touchpad, you have all these controls at your fingertips and once the meeting ends, the icons disappear (no longer enabled), and the full trackpad is restored,” the company added. Video calls will operate over a full HD infrared supported-camera, four-noise canceling microphones, along with four built-in audio speakers.

To further enhance the video calls, the Latitude 9330 features Dell Optimizer, a software package that comes with privacy features capable of concealing sensitive information on the screen if an onlooker is detected snooping on your laptop. In addition, the product can connect to two internet networks simultaneously to help improve download speeds.

Buyers will be able to outfit the laptop with Intel’s 12th Generation Alder Lake processors and up to 1TB in storage. Other features include support for Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, an option for a 4G or 5G modem, and three USB Type-C ports, two of which offer Thunderbolt 4.

Expect the Latitude 9330 to weigh in around 2.8 pounds. As a laptop convertible, the product can also flip into a touch-screen tablet, thanks to its 360-degree hinge at the screen.

If you’re looking for business laptops with larger screens, the Precision 7670 and 7770 arrive in the second quarter. Both are meant to be powerful mobile workstations, which can include support for a dedicated graphics card.

The Precision 7670 will come with a 16-inch screen, a first for the Precision line. “Another first, the Precision 7670 comes in two chassis options—thin and performance—for a device that best powers your daily applications,” the company said. “The two chassis versions offer flexibility in scalability and configurability determined by your chosen graphics card.”

Meanwhile, the 7770 will be built with an even bigger 17-inch display, in a single chassis type.  Both laptops can be outfitted with 12th Generation Intel Alder Lake chips, including an i9 processor, up to 128GB of DDR5 RAM and up to an Nvidia RTX A5500 GPU.

The other notable feature is how both Precision laptops feature Dell’s patented DDR5 memory called CAMM, which stands for Compression Attached Memory Module. The new module promises to be thinner than standard DDR5 RAM, and easier to access for repairs. “Initially launching with CAMM, the Precision 7000 series will also be available with traditional SODIMM options soon afterwards,” the company added.
