RAM Turbo
With our constant reliance on smartphones for work and play, heavy multitasking can often lead to ‘background process killing’. Lack of RAM is a big culprit for this, which is what the Honor X8’s advanced memory capability addresses.
The technology solution converts a small portion of the smartphone’s ROM to RAM, boosting efficiency and allowing users to enjoy a faster and more optimised user experience. While the Honor X8 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM, RAM Turbo effectively converts 2GB of the smartphone’s ROM storage into RAM, meaning the active RAM on the device is 12GB.
Honor’s RAM Turbo compression technology also pushes the limits for a seamless experience. The self-developed feature brings triple the compression effect, theoretically boosting 2GB of virtual RAM to 6GB. This allows users to keep more applications alive from the backend. The technology also considers the impact of Universal Flash Storage (UFS) deterioration when writing and reading takes place over and over.
To minimise the effect of this on RAM, Honor has developed an optimisation mechanism which identifies hot and cold page data based on the user and implements different compression and dumping strategies for different applications. This intelligently allows uncommonly used data to be moved to storage space.
Ultra slim and lightweight
Despite packing all that power, the Honor X8 is designed with an ultra slim and lightweight body. It is just 7.45mm thick and weighs 177g with a flat-edge design and exquisitely rounded corners. There is also no sacrifice when it comes to the smartphone’s material choice where its mid-frame bezel plate is made from a new and exclusive high strength but lightweight aluminium alloy. This protects from Honor X8 from falls and bending in daily use.
Up front, the Honor X8 packs a 6.7-inch FullView ultra-thin display with a 2,388 x 1,080-pixel Full HD resolution and a 93.6 per-cent screen to body ratio. With its 16.7 million colors, you get a true-to-life viewing experience that is ideal for watching movies, browsing photos or gaming.
Visual details are more prominent than ever before thanks to the cutting-edge display which ensures a stand-out gaming experience with stunning colors. This is only helped further by the LCD display’s 90Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and more stable gameplay without lag.
Going beyond the on-screen experience the Honor X8 comes with TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification, which reduces the proportion of harmful blue light that is emitted from the display. This means less eye strain and fatigue for use over extended periods of time. You also find a unique eBook Mode for focusing and reading, even in low-light environments.

To capture your precious memories, the Honor X8 packs an ultra-clear quad-camera. Here, you find a 64MP main camera, 5MP wide camera, 2MP macro camera and a 2MP bokeh camera.
