HP Adds 6 Laptops to Its Envy, Spectre Lines for Hybrid Workers

HP is refreshing its Envy and Spectre laptops with six new models designed for today’s hybrid work environment.

The products range from 13 to 17 inches in size and include several laptop convertibles that can flip into tablets. The company plans on selling the products on HP.com starting today, and through retailers including Best Buy.

HP developed the products for people who work at home, in the office, and on the road. The company added a 5-megapixel infrared web camera to all six laptops to enable high-quality video calls, and the laptops also feature HP Presence software, which can remove audio noise, improve the lighting and voice levels of your video conference.

In addition, the laptops come with a “network booster,” which can prioritize the PC’s Wi-Fi usage to a video call or another app, preventing disruptions.

The first notebook, the HP Spectre x360 13.5-inch, starts at $1,249.99. HP claims it’s the world’s first 13.5-inch laptop convertible with a 5MP infrared camera capable of offering high-quality video calls. Expect 15 hours of battery life when it comes to wireless streaming.

For those who need more screen real estate, the HP Spectre x360 16-inch will retail starting at $1,649.99. The product has been refreshed with the latest 12th Generation Intel Core processors, and can even be configured with Intel's recently launched Arc A370M graphics chip. Expect 15 hours of battery life when it comes to mixed usage.

According to HP, these laptop convertibles are ideal for artists and other creatives, who’d also like a tablet they can draw on using a stylus.

HP Envy x360

The rest of the products cover HP’s Envy line, which targets mainstream consumers usually at prices lower than the Spectre series. The company is offering a laptop convertible in the Envy x360 13.3-inch, which will arrive at a starting price of $899.99. HP says the product can run up to 17 hours on single charge when it comes to mixed usage. Check it out in action in the video above.

Envy x360 15.6-inch

Meanwhile, the slightly larger Envy x360 15.6-inch will start at $849.99 when purchased with an AMD processor and $899.99 when configured with an Intel chip. Unlike the 13.3-inch model, it can also be outfitted with a dedicated Nvidia RTX 2050 graphics chip, but hardware only offers about 10 hours in battery life when it comes to mixed usage.

HP is also introducing two laptops in the Envy 16 and the Envy 17 for users looking for more computing power. The 16-inch version can be upgraded with up to an Intel Core i9 processor, making it the potentially more powerful of the two.
