When you're looking to buy a new laptop, there are a few things to consider. Most new machines start with 8GB to 16GB of RAM and at least a 256GB hard drive (SSD is generally preferred for a device that’s going to be bounced around a lot, but there are plenty of adequate HDD models out there). Gamers will want a display with a good refresh rate (165Hz or higher), and a built-in Nvidia GeForce graphics card is a nice perk (even if GPU prices have dropped).

Take a look at our Prime Day 2022 deals page for more discounts; our best laptop deals roundup also has a wide range of top laptop discount picks from major retailers, including Dell and Walmart. (Dell is also having a “Black Friday in July” sale right now.)

Razer Blade 14 Ryzen 9 RTX 3080

Razer Blade 14

If you’re on the hunt for a discounted Razer Blade gaming laptop, look no further than this model, which offers a robust AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX 8-core processor and a powerful GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card that can handle most AAA titles with ease. Other notable features include a CNC aluminum chassis, 14-inch QHD 2,560-by-1,440 165Hz display, a 1TB SSD, HDMI 2.1 output (up to [email protected]), and vapor chamber cooling to dissipate all the heat this powerhouse produces during intense gaming sessions. We gave a similar model with a less powerful RTX 3070 graphics card our Editors’ Choice award, so just imagine how this one stacks up.

Gigabyte A5 K1 Ryzen 7 RTX 3060, X1 Ryzen 9 RTX 3070

Gigabyte A5 K1

Gaming on a budget? Whichever Gigabyte A5 series laptop you decide to get, you won’t be disappointed. The first A5 K1 model features the eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 5000 series processor, a 6GB GDDR6 GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card, 16GB of DDR4 RAM memory, and a 1TB solid state drive. Its 1080p IPS-panel display offers up to 240Hz support for smooth fluid movement on select games. The Ryzen 7 configuration should be capable of running most current-generation AAA titles like Fortnite, Call of Duty: Vanguard, and God of War easily.

If you want something faster and have the budget for it, we would recommend the A5 X1 model with the quick AMD Ryzen 9 8-core processor with an 8GB GDDR6 GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card. The Ryzen 9 model should perform well with higher-resolution textures and should be capable of running most current-generation AAA titles.
